Confessions of a Cat Lady
Let’s talk about the phrase “cat lady.”
For years, it’s been used as a not-so-subtle dig. You know the image: slightly disheveled, covered in cat hair, talking to her fur-babies like they’re her coworkers. (Okay, we do talk to our cats like they’re coworkers—but only because one of them is the actual CEO.)
But at Special Souls, we think it’s high time we reclaimed the term. Because being a Cat Lady (or Cat Gentleman or Cat Enby or Cat Fanatic of Any Kind) means you are compassionate. You’re someone who sees an underdog—er, undercat—and says, “I got you.” You believe in second chances, extra snuggles, and that every cat deserves a shot at a happy life, no matter their age or ability.
Take our Sponsored Cats, for example. They may be blind, or a little wobbly, or need meds to stay comfy. But they’re still quirky, affectionate, and full of personality. Just like your favorite rom-com heroine. Except with more whiskers and fewer dating app disasters.
And the people who adopt them? Heroes. Legends. Absolute icons. They should be in a Marvel movie
So if loving a cat—especially one with special needs—makes you a “cat lady,” then pour the kibble, fluff the fleece blanket, and cue the dramatic slow-blink of approval. You’re in good company.
Now go hug your cat. Or three. We won’t judge.
And hey, if you want to make life a little better for a senior or special-needs cat, we’d love your support. Whether it’s a donation, a share, or a nap on the couch with your own feline sidekick—we see you, we appreciate you, and we’re glad you’re part of the Special Souls family.
