What IS GivingTuesday?
After the shopping rush of Black Friday and Cyber Monday comes GivingTuesday—a global day of generosity that invites everyone to do something good for others. It happens each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and focuses on simple, meaningful actions: give, share, volunteer, and uplift your community.
How it started
GivingTuesday began in 2012 at New York’s 92nd Street Y in partnership with the United Nations Foundation as a straightforward idea: set aside a day to celebrate giving. Since then, it’s grown into a worldwide movement embraced by nonprofits, businesses, and everyday people across the globe.
How you can take part (in 5 minutes or less)
Make a gift to support senior and special-needs cats. Small amounts add up to real care.
Start a monthly donation. Recurring gifts create stability for medical care, prescription food, and comfort items.
Double your impact with a match. Ask your employer about donation matching.
Share a post. Tell friends why you support Special Souls Feline Foundation and encourage them to join you.
Volunteer your voice. Comment, reshare, and tag cat-loving friends—visibility helps seniors get seen and chosen.
Why your gift matters
Senior and special-needs cats are often overlooked, but they’re gentle, grateful companions who thrive with a little extra support. Your generosity helps provide the essentials—vet exams, medications, cozy beds, mobility aids, food, and treats—so adopters can say “yes” with confidence.
This GivingTuesday, join us in celebrating generosity that changes lives—one senior cat or special-needs cat at a time. Make your gift and share our message today.
